Filed under: All Posts, Bellingham WA, Whatcom County, Open Houses, Buyer Tips — Jerry @ 8:20 am

Whatcom Open HousesBellingham WA - Home buyers in the Bellingham area can now search weekend open houses by visiting BellinghamHomes.com and checking out the open house pages. The Bellingham open house site displays all area open houses that local Realtors advertise on the NWMLS site.

Open house seekers can go directly to the Whatcom open house page or the Skagit open house page to find a list of open houses for the upcoming weekend. Buyers no longer have to wait until the weekend or delivery of the Sunday morning paper because open houses are added every day of the week building up to the weekend. Instead of trying to read small ads in the newspaper, open house seekers can now view the listed property with all of it’s information and photos.

New Ferndale WA Real Estate Web Site

Filed under: All Posts, Ferndale WA, Whatcom County, Open Houses, Real Estate — Jerry @ 5:21 pm

hovander-barn.jpg Ferndale, Washington now has a real estate web site dedicated to the Ferndale area homes market. The new Ferndale real estate site is located on the web at FerndaleHomes.com. The site provides Ferndale area residents with links to searching Ferndale area homes for sale, Ferndale home alert system, free market analysis, and much more Ferndale WA Business  links and information.

The new Ferndale area web site was designed to serve the needs of Ferndale home sellers and Ferndale home buyers in the West Whatcom County area. The site also has information on local Ferndale Schools, shopping, parks, recreation, local events and so much more.  Because it is so close to Sandy Point, Lummi Island, Custer, and North Bellingham the site will also cover these areas as well.

Addi tonally the site has a section that covers Ferndale WA relocation assistance whether your relocating to Ferndale or selling a home and moving out of the Ferndale WA area.

The most exciting part of the new Ferndale real estate web site are the property search capabilities built into the site.  Searching Ferndale real estate just got a whole lot easier with all the state of the art search functions packed in to the search page.  The quick search feature allows buyers to search by mls number, by address /or zip code, search homes for sale near a school, search by radius, by new listings, and a cool feature that you can draw a box around an area and search.  The site also has the full search capabilities to search all listings and then narrow the search parameters to fit your needs.

5356-patriot-place.jpg  The Liberty Park neighborhood located in the North Bellingham area of Ferndale, Washington has announced their Fall 2007 Ferndale open house schedule. The Ferndale community will have open houses every Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 5pm.  Liberty Park will have four brand new two story homes and two one story homes open to the public.

The new Ferndale homes can also be viewed by calling Jerry Campbell 360-739-7779 for a private showing.  At the open houses buyers will be able to experience several finished homes by Roosendaal-Honcoop Const. and all the fine finishes the homes builder provides.  The Quality of an RH Home is unmatched in the price range that they compete against in the Ferndale and North Bellingham new homes market.

The Ferndale New Homes can also be found under the Bellingham Herald open house trenton-kitchen.jpgsection of the Sunday newspaper. Go to the open house section and look under The Muljat Group ad for the Bellingham Herald.  The Bellingham Herald also has open house ads on-line by going to Bellingham Herald, then Real Estate, Open Houses and finally click on Home Finder.

Roosendaal-Honcoop Const. have been building fine homes since 1979 and have built close to 150 homes in the North Bellingham area alone.  Some of their finished communities include Bellaire Estates, W. 54th, Byers Lane, Myers Estates and many custom homes in this area of Ferndale, WA.

Stop by one of their open houses and pick up a Liberty Park Packet, home plans, plat map, and much more to help you in your new home buying descisions.  They encourage buyers in the new home market to compare their homes to the rest of the market and you’ll see why they are rated as one of the best builders in Whatcom County.

Bellingham Open Houses Goes Online

Filed under: All Posts, Bellingham WA, Whatcom County, Open Houses — Jerry @ 9:28 am

Move over Bellingham Herald, competition has arrived via the Internet for weekend open houses in the Bellingham, WA & the greater Whatcom County area.  Realtors are starting to advertise their open houses on their own web sites instead of with the local print media all the time.

The Broker I work for has already gotten ahead of the curve by advertising all of the companies Bellingham open houses right on the home page of the Muljat Group’s web site. The traffic & hits on the new open house page has been tremendous and overtime, as the public gets use to the idea, the traffic will build. When ever you can check out weekend open houses on-line on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you are providing a better service to the public, who normally have to wait until the paper comes out on Sunday morning. Instead of the little ad in the paper that you can barely read, you can now get the full information, lots of photos, and you can map your tour.

Eventually, some entrepreneur will create a web site that serves the entire Whatcom County open houses market displaying open houses to the public.  They could make the service available to any local Realtor advertising weekend open houses in the Whatcom County area. They could also make it available to for sale by owners and really provide a service that is needed in the market place today.

As a Realtor in the local market, I can definitely see a niche that is currently being filled only by the local newspaper. Unlike the newspaper though, a new Whatcom County open house site could provide a lot more detail about the home and provide up to 15 photos.  With the paper you get a small ad and maybe a photo in the Sunday open house section. They also put the ad copy on line under the company’s web site’s open house section.

It is a little frustrating with the high cost of advertising in the local paper and I think it would be a great alternative medium for local Realtors to advertise weekend open houses. Once traffic on the website increases, the proprietor could sell adverting on the site to off-set the expense of promoting the site in the local paper, thus keeping Realtors costs to a minimum. I don’t think it would replace the ads in the local paper, but who knows with way the internet has proceeded.  It would just be nice to have a great alternative with a much richer medium for buyers and sellers.

With the shelf life of a daily newspaper being so short and the internet being a never ending vehicle…maybe change is in the wind.  At some point a local open house site will come on-line and provide a service that is really needed right now and give the Bellingham herald a run for their money. That would be a very welcome change when it does happen. I think it will be hard to beat with all the information one could provide to the to the viewing public through a top notch web site.
